Join the Tour de Fort program for a unique guided bike tour exploring the fascinating archaeological sites surrounding Fort Pickens. This program offered by the National Park Service delves into the rich past of Santa Rosa Island.

The tour kicks off with a short presentation by a park ranger and archaeologists from the Friends of Pensacola Archaeology (FPAN). Following the introduction, you’ll embark on a scenic bike ride through historically significant locations.
Highlights of the Tour:
- 18th-century Spanish colonial presidio
- Civil War Battle of Santa Rosa Island site
- Shipwrecks from various eras of Pensacola’s history
- Historic structures scattered throughout the island
Important Information:
- This program is recommended for ages 12 and up. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Participants are required to bring their own bicycles and helmets.
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and plenty of water are essential as the tour takes place outdoors.
- The tour concludes at the Fort Pickens Area picnic pavilion, so consider packing a snack or lunch for a post-tour bite.
- There’s no additional cost for the program beyond the standard park entrance fee. However, RSVPs are mandatory.
