From Challenge to Calling

Gloria’s grooming journey began in May 2019. Initially seeking employment in her new hometown, she landed a position at a kennel with no prior experience in animal care. However, a single opportunity to bathe a dog sparked her curiosity. When her then-boss doubted her potential as a groomer, Gloria turned that doubt into determination. She immersed herself in learning about the industry, enrolled in grooming school, and graduated on May 1, 2020.

Building a Business Against the Odds

Following her graduation, Gloria connected with her mentor, Jessica Adorno, at the Atlanta Pet Fair in 2020. Encouraged by Jessica’s belief in her potential, Gloria took a leap of faith and opened her first grooming shop. While her initial location was damaged by a hurricane in 2019, Gloria didn’t let the setback deter her. She relocated and established a new shop in a more accessible area.

However, tragedy struck again in July 2023, when Gloria experienced a serious accident that left her with multiple injuries. The road to recovery was long, involving surgeries, physical therapy, and learning to walk again. Remarkably, by December 4, 2023, she was fully cleared to return to work.

Gloria’s dedication has earned her accolades, including the Best of Bay and Best of My City awards in both 2023 and 2024. Beyond running her business, Gloria is a teacher, Andis educator, and ambassador for top brands like Opawz, Sharpie, and Alpha Grooming Products.
